Theatre of kids
Completely destroyed by the Second World War, it was rebuilt in reinforced concrete. The entire building is characterized by a trapezoidal shape and a rounded wall at the entrance, which converges toward the stage. The shape of the new theater was highly conditioned by the constraints imposed by the existing trees, that Mostra d’Oltremare decided to preserve, and to take as a reference point.
The Theatre is surrounded by an extensive and lush pine forest, which makes this structure an oasis for children and teenagers and their cultural activities and free time in Naples. Originally Teatro dei Piccoli was used for film festivals and puppet shows. Today it may be considered the home of theater, music and cinema for young people in Naples, with many scheduled shows, also in English.
